About

What we do

The main aim of our organisation is to build employability skills with our students.

We work with adults with special needs as well as working in partnership with local companies. We aim to build confidence and social skills by offering volunteering opportunities, gardening, social enterprise activities, arts and crafts, Keep Fit classes, social events, and day respite opportunities.

Watch US Grow

Our organic garden is an important focus of our activities.

We use organic methods to grow top quality vegetables such broccoli, green beans, peas, rhubarb, carrots, potatoes and also grow beautiful bedding plants, aromatic herbs, annual and perennial plants, and we have a reputation for providing an excellent service along with high-quality plants.

The garden very much belongs to the students and they carry out the majority of the jobs, with some help and guidance from the staff and volunteers. They work hard through rain or shine all year round and are well rewarded when they can take home all the delicious vegetables they have grown in the garden. We have many visitors to our garden including schools and colleges. They may want to learn more about gardening or horticulture, or just wanting to have a look around our garden, particularly our wonderful wormeries!!! The students are always keen to show the visitors around and tell them about the fantastic work we do.

Watch US Grow and our students are also very active in the community. We plan and attend lots of plant sales throughout the year at various locations in Cumbernauld. Our plant sales are always very successful, with lots of returning customers! These plant sales help to raise funds for Watch Us Grow and allow us to continue doing the work that we do.
