Busy Summer

sharon-and-rachel

Well, this Summer is so far been an extremely busy season! As you can probably tell from the lack of Blog posts!!

Our first event in June was our annual Summer BBQ. We decided to change things up a bit and have it this year on a Friday evening, bringing a good start to everyone’s weekend. Watch US Grow had been busy planning this event for a while and our students had been working so hard to get the garden ready for everyone, we also had a DJ; however the weather was not on our side! The forecast for the day was to be torrential rain!! We couldn’t have our BBQ in the garden and did not want to postpone the event. Thankfully, Palacerigg Golf Club came to our rescue, and at 3 days notice said we could have the BBQ in their club.

We moved the BBQ indoors to the Golf Club along with our DJ and what a fantastic time we had! Everyone was up dancing all night and the food was great” There were a lot of sore feet the next morning after all that dancing!

A few intrepid explorers from Watch US Grow went up to Glencoe to help out at the Caledonian Challenge, it was a long day but our students had a lot of fun. They were helping at the finish line to congratulate the finishers and hand out medals to them.

We have also been kept extremely busy with the number of plant sales we have had!! Almost one every other weekend!!!  These plant sales kept us very busy and helped raise a lot of money for Watch US Grow.

Our Garden is also looking beautiful this time of year, the flowers are in full bloom and the lovely, ever-changing British weather has ensured they have plenty of water and sunshine. There are still plenty of plants for sale on our garden so please do come have a look at our Garden and take in the peace, quiet and relaxation while you are there!

The next event Watch US Grow has coming up is our Summer Outing on Tuesday the 21st of July. We are going to the Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh and then to the Botanic Gardens! Everyone is really looking forward to it and you can read about this in our next blog post!
